The Fox Business article “Childcare for 2 kids now costs nearly 40% more than rent across 100 largest US metros” discusses the rising cost of childcare.
A Lending Tree study found that in 91 of the 100 largest U.S. metros, the monthly cost of full-time center-based care for two children exceeds the average monthly rent. In nine of those major metros, childcare costs are double the rent costs.
While Americans call for childcare and housing reform to bring down these costs, these economic burdens are likely to persist.
