The San Antonio Report, in “Texas businesses call on lawmakers to reform childcare during 89th legislative session”, states that Texas business leaders are urging state lawmakers to prioritize childcare reform in the upcoming session. They cite that inadequate childcare options have caused significant economic losses.
The Employers for Childcare Task Force, comprising nearly 70 businesses and associations, has developed policy recommendations to strengthen existing childcare providers and support employers in offering childcare benefits.
Proposed measures include franchise tax credits for companies that provide childcare assistance to employees and competitive grants to help existing providers expand their services.
